The statue of liberty is a symbol of freedom. The people of France gave the Statue to the people of the United States more than one hundred years ago in recognition of the friendship established during the American Revolution. Over the years, the Statue of Liberty has grown to include freedom and democracy as well as this international friendship. Its located in National Park Services Liberty Island New York, NY. I’ve never seen the statue if liberty but i plan to when i go to New York. One of my teachers from last year went to New York to see the statue of liberty and she said it don’t seem that big but Ill just have to see for myself.

It was given to the U.S. from the french to represent the friendship between two countries established during the American Revolution. It represents a woman wearing a stola (similar to the toga) a crown and sandals, trampling a broken chain, carrying a torch in her raised right hand and in the left is a tablet where the date of the Declaration of Independence is inscribed. It is located on Liberty Island in New York Harbor. The statue is 151 ft (46 m) tall, but with the pedestal and foundation, it is 305 ft (93 m) tall.

i know it’s really big and i have never seen it but Americans take or see the statue of liberty as a great monument of freedom and democracy. To me it stands for how far we have come and how far we will continue to go in the future and most Americans will see it or take the meaning or symbolism of the statue of liberty the same. American idealize it as one of the great landmarks in the united sates of America.

The Statue of Liberty was a gift to the United States during the American Revolution by the people of France over one hundred years ago in recognition of the friendship. France finished the statue in July 1884 & got to New York harbor on June 1885 and on October 28th 1886, the dedication of the Statue of Liberty took place in front of thousands of spectators. She was a centennial gift ten years late. :)

The statute of liberty is a symbol of freedom and democracy. It was a gift to the United States from the people of France as a token of friendship during the American Revolution in October 28, 1886. It was considered a national monument in 1924 and was restored on July 4, 1986. It’s located on Liberty Island. This monument is important because it showed that the Americans and the French were willing to work together as a team since together they built the pedestal and the statute of liberty. It’s also important because it gave immigrants coming to the new land, hope of a life with freedom and opportunity. This helped make the “melting pot” of America.
